Hi! I would like to introduce myself: My full name is Alexandra Catalina Garcia Dupree. I was born in Norwalk, Connecticut.
Although I was born in the United States, I lived my younger life in Bogotá, Colombia. I am so proud to be Colombian! My family has taught me that God and family come first. They fuel me to perform and to seek out what is important to me.
Performing has always come natural to me. I began modeling when I was six years old for Macy's children's clothing, but soon found my love in expressing myself through acting. I loved being other people. I was always making up plays with my friends and performing them at my parents' parties in our backyard. This was only the beginning.
I was a very active child. I played soccer in the fall, danced ballet in the winter and played tennis in the spring. I played piano competitively - winning an award for best composition in Connecticut - and played flute (now I am learning guitar). I began to train vocally when I was 13 years old; I love singing!
My love for travel and adventure has really enhanced my ability to understand many different aspects of life. I have been so privileged to have traveled to many many exciting places. I lived in Vicenza, Italy for a while and traveled throughout Yugoslavia before the war. I speak English and Spanish fluently (now I'm working on my French!).
I began studying drama seriously when I was twelve years old with Bryce Productions in Westport Connecticut. Before I chose to study drama for a living I thought about what it means to me to be a performer. I see myself as a vessel to express to others what a writer has created. My passion in life is to tell stories that will affect peoples' lives. I have an undying desire to allow the director to mold me into what he envisions a character to be; I can be morphed into any character to tell any kind of story. This excites me; this drives me.
I graduated from New York University's Tisch program with a BFA in Drama and a minor in Photography. I am completely passionate about performing and committed to making a difference in peoples' lives.
